Join us for a special playtime just for ages 1month-18 months. This program will offer multiple stations for active and sensory play. Crawl, roll, grab, explore- come play with us! 

“One in five children suffers from a mental health or learning disorder, and 80% of chronic mental health disorders begin in childhood,” (Journa of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, 2010).

For accomplished or aspiring writers...informal meetings, writing exercises, share writing, and constructive criticism. Any form of writing is encouraged. Questions? Call 515-222-3413

Are you looking for a few Silver Cord, Community Service, or volunteer hours? The Library is looking for volunteers to help out with a monthly group service project. We will be performing a variety of tasks to help out the Library.

Make a card for your friends and family at the West Des Moines Library. For ages 5-12. Registration required.

Computers are everywhere, changing every industry on the planet.

When was the last time you had an hour to do nothing but read?

No excuses, no distractions, no assigned books, no pressure, and no talking required.  Just a group of readers quietly enjoying their books together.

A non-competitive environment for playing chess, learning chess or discussing all things chess. 

This is a drop-in event. No registration is required. 

Program is not monitored by Library staff.

Make new friends! Discover new authors! Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and we'll talk about what we've all been reading since the last Social. Newcomers welcome! Registration preferred.
