The Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL) is Iowa's largest nonprofit animal shelter, caring for many thousands of pets each year. The ARL serves people and pets from across the state of Iowa through its programs, which include pet adoption, humane education, pet behavior training, spay/neuter, animal cruelty intervention and much more.

The Around Town mobile food pantry serves 500 people in the Des Moines area each month. Information on services, donations and volunteering are available through an online form.

ArtForce Iowa creates opportunities to transform youth in need through art by offering support to youth who have had involvement with family or juvenile court in the last year. Art Force also offers a supportive arts-based community for immigrant, refugee and first-generation American youth who have experienced violence and trauma.
