Beginner’s Yoga and Mindfulness with Yoga Alliance certified instructor Meetu Sharma
Have you been curious about yoga, but not yet had the opportunity to try it? Or would you like to deepen your existing practice? Would you like to learn relaxation techniques you can take with you into the busy holiday season?
This gentle introduction to classical yoga will teach you basic asanas (poses) and introduce you to mindful breathing techniques. You will spend an hour each week in a relaxing, phone-free environment. This class is designed to be flexible to all body types and abilities. As with all exercise, check with your physician before participating in physical activity.
Please register for the four week series, as each class builds on the last. However, if you cannot attend one of the classes, you are still welcome to participate and will be given the handouts from the class you miss.
We suggest bringing a yoga mat, small towel and water bottle to each class. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat if possible; we will have a limited number on hand for people to borrow during the program.
You will be asked to leave your phone in a basket at the entrance to encourage full participation. In case of emergency, feel free to contact the library and we will be sure to get a message to you.
Class size is limited to provide social distancing, and the instructor will be masked when working closely with participants.
PLEASE NOTE: Registrants will be sent a liability waiver to review ahead of the first class. You may print it out in advance and bring with you, or copies will be available for you to complete at the program.
The library has a photography policy that you can review here.
