Week Calendar

The Des Moines Children’s Museum will provide a fun, safe, and educational environment for young children and their families to explore the arts, nature, and the world around them.

Join us for a special playtime just for ages 1month-18 months. We will be outside exploring water through multiple stations for active and sensory play. Wear appropriate clothing. Program may be held indoors depending on weather conditions.

Join us on Friday mornings for shorter movies (approx. 40 minutes). No registration is needed, though space is limited. Today's showing will feature Fancy Nancy.

For accomplished or aspiring writers...informal meetings, writing exercises, share writing, and constructive criticism. Any form of writing is encouraged. Questions? Call 515-222-3413

Join us for a fun afternoon in outerspace!  Put your crafting skills to the test and make a rocket that's out of this world!  Ages 7-12.  Registration required.  

Join a Polk County Conservation Naturalist to learn more about these scaly creatures people love to hate. We'll discuss characteristics and types of Iowa reptiles and even meet a live reptile. For ages 3-12. Registration required.

All movies are shown at 1:30 p.m. in the Library Community Room.  No registration is needed, though space is limited. Today's movie will be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (PG; 142 minutes).

Guaranteed to cure rheumatism, chill blains, and toothache! Okay, not really, but it IS relaxing and F-U-N! We’ll have markers, colored pencils, and coloring sheets (or you can bring your own supplies). Make the color connection!

A non-competitive environment for playing chess, learning chess or discussing all things chess. 

This is a drop-in event. No registration is required.
