OXFAM Hunger Banquet

As a part of Risha Shetye's High School Honors Project at Valley, she is hosting a hunger banquet.  What the event does is provide a simulation of the hunger insecurity in the world so you get to feel the impact in an interactive setting. When you walk into the room, you are given a card which tells you what social class you are in. The quality of your meal depends on what social class you get. There will be people with more food than others but the point is to represent the inequality. The goal for this is to raise awareness about hunger insecurity in our community and on Earth. There will be a guest speaker and food will be provided after if you do not get a full meal! It is an experience worth trying!
