Land Registry on a Blockchain

The Des Moines Bitcoin and Blockchain group is a non-profit technology group aimed at promoting education about blockchain technology and cryptocurrenies. The group meets monthly at the West Des Moines Library on the 4th Thursday of each month at 7PM. This month's guest will be Chris Bates of Bitland, who will discuss hosting land registries on a blockchain. Bitland streamlines and automates the entire land registration process so it provides a better system of record. They combine automation with blockchain technology. Bitland is an organization that aims to provide services to allow individuals and organizations to survey land and record deeds onto the Bitshares Blockchain. As the pilot project is working out of Kumasi, Ghana the team is looking to expand their reach further into the African continent. As the organization grows, they look to build infrastructure in developing countries to potentially unlock billions of dollars in untapped property rights.
