Event Details

Stop by the display case at the entrance of the Library to check out The Traveling History of the Book Exhibit.   On loan from the Iowa Center of the Book, the display consists of historically accurate replicas of the book throughout history including miniature books, Braille books, a Rosetta stone replica, handmade books of vellum and papyrus, and other items.  This "hands-on" exhibit is intended to bring to life the invention of writing, paper and books, telling the book's story to readers of all ages. 

The Traveling History of the Book Exhibit was developed out of a creative collaboration between the Iowa Center for the Book and the University of Iowa Center for the Book. The project is funded by a major grant from the Iowa Center for the Book Foundation.
