Learn how to fight fraud!

Do you sometimes wonder if an email request is legitimate? Does an insurance offer seem too good to be true? And how do you figure out what’s for real and what’s a scam? The Fraud Fighters are here to help! The Fraud Fighters from United Way are trained by the Iowa Insurance Division and in this presentation, they’ll talk about a variety of common scams and how you can arm yourself with the tips and tools to prevent fraud from happening to you. Attendees will also learn about the importance of thoroughly investigating money-making offers, before parting with their assets. 

Who are the Fraud Fighters? United Way of Central Iowa’s AmeriCorps Seniors program has Fraud Fighters volunteers who are trained by the Iowa Insurance Division to give presentations on common scams, such as fraudulent investments, consumer and Medicare insurance schemes, pyramid schemes and more.
