Iowa truly has become a melting pot. From Governor Ray's outreach to SE Asian refugees in the 1970s to today's amazing variety of dialects spoken in public schools, we have become an example of integration.

Zeljka Krvavica, a refugee who now works for the Iowa Bureau of Refugee Services, shares her family's story of refugee camps and fleeing the Siege of Sarajevo, and why she is a fervent believer in the greatness refugees and immigrants can bring to our state.

The WDM Historical Society presents an Iowa history series at the WDM Public Library. Ages 18 & up. No registration.

Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
