The Traveling History of the Book Exhibit display consists of historically accurate replicas of the book throughout history. The exhibit includes miniature books, Braille books, a Rosetta stone replica, handmade books of vellum and papyrus, and other related items. This "hands-on" exhibit is intended to bring to life the invention of writing, paper and books, telling the book's story to readers of all ages.
Join us for a discussion of the exhibit materials then learn how to make a book of your own! Registration preferred.
The Traveling History of the Book Exhibit was developed out of a creative collaboration between the Iowa Center for the Book and the University of Iowa Center for the Book. The project is funded by a major grant from the Iowa Center for the Book Foundation.
This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library Foundation.
