In his first session on digital literacy & democracy, Drake STEM Librarian Dan Chibnall looked at how our new technologies & ways of communicating make the work of democracy more complicated. In this second session he will continue with that theme by exploring how we can become more aware of new (and old) tricks & problems that arise in our society because of new technology. He will focus on what we should be nervous about, hopeful about, how misinformation has become a larger problem, how social media can truly help connect us & learn, and how libraries can be more essential than ever to this entire process.
