Keeping democracy running in the United States has always been hard work. In the 21st century that work now requires us to have a new set of skills: digital literacy. Our new mobile technology and ways of communicating and learning can make this work exciting but also overwhelming. In this first of two presentations, Drake STEM Librarian Dan Chibnall will talk about the need for citizens to be more digitally literate to help maintain democracy. He will talk about a course he developed & taught titled “Science & Democracy” and relate the concepts to everyday life in the United States.
